Do You Have A Speeding Fine?

Car manufacturers can now design and build cars that are comfortable and easy to drive, and more importantly the vehicles handle well when you speed, making speeding an easy thing to do. If you are driving along on a motorway, or side road, and the roads are quiet it is easy to speed without noticing. The implications are that you could suffer some penalty points, raising your insurance premium, and by fined too. We’d like to share a few tips to make your life a little easier.

Tip #1 - Focus Focus Focus! Seriously, don’t be distracted and keep your eyes on the road. Avoid common distractions like getting to involved in a conversation with your passenger, or eating your lunch whilst driving. If you need to talk to someone, try talking to yourself!

Tip #2 - Be Alert - Being alert is another important tip that can be helpful if you want to avoid getting speeding fines as well. Sometimes it is easy to drive along and never realize that the speed has changed, and soon you are in trouble for speeding. This can often be prevented by just being alert when you are driving. Make sure that you are looking around, keeping your eyes on the signs around you, as well as the traffic. These things will clue you in on speed changes you may otherwise miss. Being alert also helps you keep in mind the speed you are going. When you are alert, you are more likely to check on the speed you are traveling from time to time, avoiding speeding in the first place.

Tip #3 - Don’t rush - The more you speed, then the more likely you are to be involved in an accident, or even be the cause of the accident.

Tip #4 - Stay Calm When Driving - Whenever you are driving a vehicle, you need to stay calm. If you are upset, angry, crying, or stressed out, being behind the wheel of a car is not a good option. When you are emotionally upset, you are more likely to go out and speed. Speeding fines are only going to make everything worse, so you are better to wait until you are calm. Make sure you stay calm while driving too. Don’t allow yourself to be drawn into aggressive driving or rage at other drivers. This is dangerous and may make you drive faster.

Tip #5 - Never to close now - I’m sure you’ll remember from your driving test (tests!) and exam , that the faster you go, the greater the stopping distance. When you’re driving, give a quick thought to how far it would take you to stop, and this will probably give you a good awareness of your driving style. It will make you consciously aware of how long it will take you to stop in an emergency too. Thinking about this will actually reduce your speed too.

Tip #6 - What if… - This is a a really powerful tip. All you need to do is think about, what if a car pulled out, or a child crossed the road. What would happen if…. The inner awareness that this gives, actively increases your concentration and reduces the likelihood of speeding, and of course, accidents.

Tip #7 - Ignore the Need for Speed - Many people just like the thrill of going fast. If you are going to avoid speeding fines though, you are going to have to ignore the need for speed. If you enjoy speeding, consider racing on a track where it is safe. Don’t take out your longing and excitement for speed out onto the road. It will definitely cost you.
