Farm Tractors - The Best On The Market

Things have been hard financially over the past couple of years or so but ask a typical farmer and he or she will say its been hard for many more than just the past couple of years. As such if its possible to save money then the typical farmer will want to know more about it. And when it comes to the purchase of a tractor we are talking serious money, so there is some serious savings to be made when deciding to buy a used tractor. The used tractor market is booming these days simply because there are some fantastic bargains to be had.

They will of course ask you what you use your tractor for as the type of tire and the ultimate price will be geared towards the tasks to be carried out. For example, if you work often on clay soils or on grass then a wide rear tyre is a must. For grass work the tread will tend to be less rugged whereas for clay soils you will be using a deep tread for traction.

How about a guide to prices though? The Used Tractor Price Guide is the answer here. Its a 328 page book which covers almost all makes and types of tractor manufactured from 1939 onwards. Forty four different manufacturers are featured. You can use this in conjunction with eBay to set your ultimate price in the auction, or you can use the guide alone and buy via the guide.

Once you have seen a tractor that suits your needs and the price looks to be in your range, if possible, ask to see the tractor before you make your purchase. Obviously most of the time this is not possible due to distance between you and the seller, but if you can see it its well worth the effort.

There are of course many other very fine makes of tractor around such as Kubota, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, David Brown, Farmall, to name but a few. But no matter which one you eventually go for its well worth taking a look at the John Deere range early in your search.

Interested in buying a tractor? Then why not have a look at the range of farm tractors for sale which also includes a range of farmall tractors for sale.
