How Electric Cars Correlate With Green Technology
Dependence on oil and gasoline is a hot topic in developed nations such as the United States. Electric vehicles are the result of much research in the field of producing green technologies. They are changing the way the world makes use of public and private transportation.
Electric cars don’t give off emissions that gasoline-powered vehicles do. The fact still remains that the electricity required to charge the vehicle battery could have been produced at a coal energy plant. Even if that were the case, however, the coal energy plant produces energy more efficiently and results in less smog than the millions of cars that use gasoline put into the air each passing year.
The electric vehicle may not be cheap, but it is most definitely efficient when it comes to fuel. Gasoline can cost several hundred dollars for a trip across the United States, while an electric vehicle could make the trip for about ten times less. Electricity is cheaper to obtain, but just isn’t as abundant in fuel stations around the nation.
Gasoline engines cause moderate vibrations as the pistons and parts of the engine move at high rates. The electric motor is less noisy, being able to give the driver little to no sound at all throughout the course of the drive. This is a fine bragging point for luxury vehicles and is great for long road trips. The lack of noise can also help the driver be more “in tune” with the sounds of the road and environment.
Saving money on the high price of electric vehicles is possible, but not to the effect of putting them in an affordable range for the average family. Current electric vehicles might cost as much as a house in a nice area, even with the tax credit that can account for several thousand dollars. It won’t sway a decision, but it’s nice to get a tax credit for something you were going to buy anyway.
All the selling points of the electric vehicle discussed are the high points- there are the lows as well. Electric vehicles run into the problem of generating little heat while the motor is being run. Gasoline motors are excellent at generating heat because of their design, but electric motors will take extra energy to generate heat and air conditioning. Current workarounds might demand that the owner heat or cool the car while still being charged and leave after it’s acceptable.
In Conclusion
Electric cars are being made faster, better, and stronger with each passing year. Keep looking for an affordable design with the years to come. It’s only a matter of time until the need for gasoline and oil will be cut out of the automotive industry. It will truly be a day to celebrate for everyone.
