Simple How To Guide To Replace A Toyota Camry Air Filter
In a few minutes maybe 15 or 20, you can change the air filter on a Toyota Camry. Vehicle Air filters clean the air that flows to the engine. A clean filter can increase your gas mileage and car performance. Car manufacturers recommend changing air filters every 20,000 miles or 18 months. Inspect and change the Toyota Camry air filter every 10 months or 10,000 miles if the vehicle is driven in very dusty conditions.
Directions;
(1)
You want to turn off the Toyota Camry’s motor first, before changing the air filter. Don’t start the car once the old air filter has been removed, it acts as a barrier just in case the car backfires.
2
Second locate the Toyota Camry air box that houses the air filter or on some models the filters. Look in the front driver’s side of the car, closest to the windshield, near the center of the engine compartment.
(3)
Then undo the metal or plastic clips that keep the housing lid secure. Lift the lid and compress the tubing or air flow connector tube towards the engine.
(4)
Remove the plastic lid of the air box. Then look for any dirt or debris stuck in the air tube leading to the engine. Also remove the air filter to make room for the new one.
5.
Finally replace the old filter with a new filter that is made for the specific make and model year of your Toyota Camry. Look up specific part numbers and or brands for your year Toyota Camry online and save a few bucks by ordering an air and oil filter at the same time.
This process is very easy to do, even with people with NO auto repair experience. Most repair shops or dealers can charge $50.00 to $75.00 labor just to replace a filter that takes only a few minutes to do. That is because most repair shops charge whats called a flat rate for certain services they perform.
