Here are the different kinds of impaired driving and how they can affect the lives of everyone. When someone thinks of Drinking and driving driving they usually think about drinking and driving. This is probably the one most often done by people. People will go out and have a couple of drinks and then they think they are not drunk so they can drive home. Most of these people end up in a car wreck because they thought they could drive after having a few drinks.

Drunk drivers are dangerous to everyone on the roadways. Everyday innocent lives are taken due to a drunk driver. You are also impaired while driving while using drugs. This is even worse than drinking and driving because with drugs you may not even realize that you are impaired.

You should never get in a vehicle with anyone that is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Try your best to get them to give you their keys if they wont do that, then you call them a cab. Under no circumstance should you let your friend or family member drive impaired.

If you are too sleepy to operate a vehicle that is another type of driving impairment. You do not need to drive a vehicle if you have not had enough rest. Everyday there are car wrecks because drivers fall asleep while driving. By law truck drivers are required to pull over for a rest after driving for over eleven hours without sleep. The truck driver must rest for ten hours before e can start driving again.

These laws were put in place to keep truck drivers and other drivers on the streets safe. When truck drivers or anyone else driving a vehicle drives without enough sleep it can cause them to hurt other people as well as themselves. They could even wind up killing bystanders or themselves.

Taking prescription medications can also impair your driving. Prescriptions can impair your driving skills so you should not drive while taking them. There are certain medications that you can buy at a drug store that can impair your driving as well. You are usually safe to drive after taken aspirin or ibuprofen but if you are taken cold medications or sleeping aids you should not drive.

There are some medical conditions that can impair driving too. If someone has one of these medical conditions the doctors will tell them that they should not be driving. An example of this kind of medical condition would be epilepsy. You should not drive if you have epilepsy because you could start having a seizure while driving. During a seizure you can not control your body at all.

The important thing to remember is to just use good judgment before getting into a car. If you think that you are not safe to be driving then have someone else drive you. You can call a cab, call a friend, a neighbor, or a family member. Remember if you are impaired and you drive you not only risk yourself you also risk innocent people’s lives. You could hurt women, children, and elderly people.
