Utilize some penetrating oil on the exhaust clamp bolts in order to loosen them. You then have to use a ratchet socket so that you will be able to remove the exhaust clamps from the muffler itself and disconnect it from the hangers. After taking the mufflers uses a mallet and hammer the area a bit to loosen up any rust buildup. You then secure your new muffler back and clamp it back up and make sure the hangers are in place.
